Level 2 background checks are comprehensive background checks that are required for individuals who work in positions of trust or responsibility. These background checks are conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and may include:
- Criminal history checks: A Level 2 background check includes a review of an individual’s criminal history records, including state, national, and FBI databases.
- Employment history checks: The background check may include verification of an individual’s employment history, including past job titles, responsibilities, and dates of employment.
- Education and credentialing checks: The background check may include verification of an individual’s educational qualifications and professional certifications or licenses. You must have a background check conducted through the Florida department of health to become a certified nursing aide/ assistant.
- Reference checks: The background check may include contacting individuals who can provide references for the individual being screened.
- Sex offender registry checks: The background check may include a review of the National Sex Offender Registry to determine if the individual has any history of sexual offenses.
Level 2 background checks are often required for individuals who work in sensitive fields such as healthcare, education, law enforcement, and finance. The purpose of the background check is to ensure that the individual is qualified and trustworthy to work in a position of trust or responsibility.
